Babri masjid demolition case verdict: all of the 32 defendants, which included LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti, Kalyan Singh and others were clean-handed by CBI court.

almost 28 years afterwards Babri masjid was demolished by ‘kar sevaks’ on claims that the Ayodhya mosque stood on an ancient Ram temple, a special court in Lucknow on Wednesday dispatched its verdict in the case and clean-handed everyone involved in the incident, including senior Bharatiya Janata party leaders LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi.

Former Union minister Uma Bharti, former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh, and right-wing leaders such as Vinay Katiyar and Sadhvi Rithambara, were also among the accused in the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition case.

champat rai, the general secretary of the Shri ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust, which is in charge of constructing the Ram temple in Ayodhya, was also named in the case.

while redeeming the verdict, judge SK Yadav of the special central bureau of investigation court said that since there was no proof to validate that the omissible was pre-planned, there was no case against the 32 defendants. “the CBI could not prove its case subsequent to reasonable doubt,” the court said in its judgement.
