A grand Maharaja Hari Singh Award 2026 ceremony was held in Jammu. Union Minister Ramdas Athawale attended the event as the chief guest.
At this event, India’s first IPS officer, Kiran Bedi, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Maharaja Hari Singh Dongra Award has been presented for several years by renowned Indian fashion designer and state president of the Republican Party of India, Sandhya Gupta.
The hero of the 26/11 attacks, Mangesh Nayak, was also present at the event. The ceremony was dedicated to the families of those who sacrificed their lives while serving the nation. Sandhya Gupta and her organization, ”Women Club Meri Pehchaan”, honored the families of the following martyrs: DYSP Jagtar Singh, DYSP Shaili Singh, DYSP Aman Thakur, Sub-Inspector Ranbir Thakur, Assistant Sub-Inspector Babu Ram, PSI Deepak Sharma, Sub-Inspector Imran Hussain Tak, and Head Constable Ashok Kumar.
