Since ages human beings need safety and security to protect themselves from weirdest things or creatures.when life started man used to protect himself with the help of Stony instruments.with the passage of time, life evolved and ideas became scientific and he became a great warrior of war.
Similarly, on the other hand, opposite gender women had been a responsibility of him, to keep them safe and secure from any evil. But that has remained a myth now. In the present era, women have become mighty, intellectually smart, emotionally stable. we read everyday top headlines of the newspapers regarding women,s accomplishments in various fields. And one of them is police force or armed force.
Three decades ago, women were not permitted to join police or forces by their families because according to their knowledge this job is not appropriate for females and it also requires immense physical strength whereas women don’t possess.
But, here it is very proud to mention that India,s first woman IPS smt. Kiran Bedi proved this irrational, traditional thought of the people wrong .she inspired millions of women to join the police. Women are marching shoulder to shoulder with men in a very effective manner in every field . They are being rewarded all-round best awards in physical training.
Moreover, in police or armed forces there is 24/7 hours duty schedule, women police officials are also doing night operations with their male counterparts very efficiently. Women police are becoming popular and emerging fast in strength and status in every aspect of society.
Alas! It is very disheartening to know that the ladies who join police are not respected by society and even by their male counterparts. They are being harassed directly and indirectly at various places and vulgar comments are often transferred. Such type of menace against women police officials is shameful and disgraceful for the unity and integrity of the society.
Our society should realize the fact that policewoman is one of the best and perfectly trained i.e professionally, morally emotionally psychologically and intellectually as well. The policewoman is like a metal, which can be converted into various forms, a supermodel in the entertainment world and a perfect chef of her husband and siblings in kitchen and a brave soldier in the field of war who never cares of dying.
She is that goddess who carries a child in her womb for nine months without any leave for pregnancy period and even in some situations it has been noticed, she has to deliver infant while performing the duty.
The policewoman is capable of facing bloodshed in war and never lose hope because she has been trained to have the faith of victory over evil. We people have peaceful sleep in nights as she remains in standing position equipped with heavy weapons even in snowy and foggy winters
We seem to have lost the free-flowing exchange of ideas on their difficult and sacrificial life. Now the time has come to stick out obscene posters of movies from the public walls. Specific publicity must be provided to the real Martyrs and surviving heroes or heroines of the country who sacrifice their comfort of life in providing safeguard to Territorial integrity.
“Serving in police or armed forces is not everyone,s cup of tea. It requires a strong mind and heart”.
To conclude, there is an immense need, that govt. should provide compensation in recruitment policy so that more and the more well educated new generation of women may join the police to eradicate illness of mind and thought from our society. For achieving this goal, our male members should also try to become a man of value rather than a man of success. And some specific programme should be organized to provide recognition to the hardships of their life and every single day should be celebrated as a woman police day.
