During the ongoing pandemic situation, we have learnt many new things. This coronavirus teaches us how to live with patience.
We are told that in olden days people did want to protect themselves from dust and smoke as these are injurious to health. But we did not hear that they used to wear masks when going out of their homes.
Today, we are living in a different world – the world of pollution, dust and foul emissions from vehicles all injurious. In addition we have the raging pandemic of corona virus which is consuming human lives at a fast pace. The one protective measure on which the government and the medical authorities all over the country are laying emphasis is masks on the mouth and nose to disallow infectious elements or viruses entering our body.
Masks have become part of our dress, rather the most essential part because if we go out without a mask, we will be picked up by the sanitary staff or the police and put in quarantine for two weeks at least.
Now we find people entering all public places like cinemas, restaurants, worshipping places and even in parties and social functions people wearing masks one and all. The bridegrooms and grooms, too, have been seen wearing masks, something unknown in Indian society so far.
During the ongoing pandemic situation, we have learnt many new things. This coronavirus teaches us how to live with patience. We humans have to become more tolerant. We realize that we should help needy people. There are many stories about generous people giving food, water and other necessities to poor people. No doubt coronavirus cases are increasing day by day yet human beings are ready to stand against this disease.
Newly born babies too are protected with masks. Now it is also a toy for them. They are not aware of why everyone is wearing masks. Many precocious children stop older ones from going out without wearing masks. They are crying if someone snatches their mask. Obviously, children growing up with the mask seem to be happy, maybe owing to the satisfaction that they will not be attacked by the virus. No one can predict when normalcy may return to the globe. However, ultimately the day will come when life will return to normal state but will people throw off the masks while inside or outside their homes is a million dollar question which we cannot answer?
