Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on 20 April tested positive for Covid-19. Giving out the information on Twitter, he urged people who came in contact with him in the last few days to follow the required protocols.

“After experiencing mild symptoms, I’ve just tested positive for COVID. All those who’ve been in contact with me recently, please follow all safety protocols and stay safe,” the Wayanad MP wrote on the microblogging site.

Dr Jitendra Singh

Dr Jitendra Singh tested positive for Coronavirus on Tuesday(20 April). He is the MoS in PMO and Member Parliament from Doda-Udhampur Lok Sabha Constituency.

He said on Twitter,” “I have today tested COVID positive with symptoms. Please get yourself screened if you were in my contact recently and take care.”

Randeep Singh Surjewala

Randeep Singh Surjewala on 20 April tested positive for Covid-19. In a tweet, Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said that he has tested COVID positive and urged people who have come in contact with him in the last 5 days to take necessary precautions.

“Anyone who has come in contact with me in the last 5 days, please self isolate & take necessary precautions,” said Surjewala, who is also a member of the Congress Working Committee.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal

On Twitter, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal said she has tested positive for COVID-19. She tweeted that she has mild symptoms and has quarantined herself at her home.

“Dear all, I’ve tested positive for #COVID19 today with mild symptoms. I have quarantined myself at home and am taking all the necessary precautions. I would request all those who came in contact with me to isolate and get themselves tested at the earliest,” she said.

Yogi Adityanath

On April 14, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said he has tested positive for Covid-19.

The CM, who was actively campaigning for the BJP in West Bengal Assembly elections just a week ago, said he had isolated himself even before the test results came after some of his close contacts tested Covid-19 positive.

Akhilesh Yadav

Samajwadi Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav tested positive for Covid-19 on 14 April.

“My corona test report has just come up positive. I have isolated myself and treatment has started at home. For those who have come in contact with me in the last few days, the most humble request is that they also get it checked. They are also requested to remain in isolation for a few days,” Akhilesh Yadav tweeted.

Other than political leaders India has reported a record number of daily deaths from the coronavirus, as over 2,000 new fatalities were recorded in data reported by the government on Wednesday morning.

The country reported nearly 3 lakh fresh cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 21,57,538 in the world’s second-worst infected country, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on April 21.
