Michel de Nostradamus, a French astrologer, physician, and soothsayer was born in
France in 1503. He is best known for his book Les Prophéties (The Prophecies,)
which is a collection of 942 poetic quatrains making predictions of future events.
People have shown great curiosity about the contents of the book. Many take its
predictions seriously for the reason that many of these have come true. According
to Nostradamus, at present, the Earth is passing through the second great cycle
period of the Moon, started in 1889, and will end in 2243.
In view of current alarming happenings (2019-20), like the raging conflicts in the
Asian Continent and the deadly Covid-19, many people are trying to find out if
Nostradamus has predicted it. One India, too, has brought forth some
predictions akin to Nostradamus. Futurists are curious whether the predictions for
2020 will come out true.
Nostradamus’ prediction talks of a war occurring between 2020 and 2025. Most of
the quatrains deal with undated massive natural disasters and battles for survival
In the Professions, he says that India will be led by a single person from 2014 to

  1. After overcoming initial obstructions he will gradually become very popular
  2. and shall rule over their minds. A major theme is an impending invasion of Europe
  3. by the Muslim forces from east and south led by Antichrist. It could be a
  4. reference to the rise of the Ottoman Empire of the 18-19 century. In that
  5. Great, War India will play a crucial role as a peacekeeper and help the world to
  6. recover from the ravages. Then India will be recognized as the “Grand Master”.
  7. Curiously, Some Islamic theologians have also spoken of ghazvatu’l Hind meaning
  8. the Indian campaign, which they believe will begin in the Khurasan (Eastern Iran)
  9. region.
  10. Without naming, Nostradamus speaks of an outstanding person who will be very
  11. popular with the people. However, some in India think PM Modi is identifiable as
  12. that leader. This idea was first floated by a BJP member of the Parliament, Mr
  13. Kirti Smaiya during an ongoing session. However, it could be just a figment of the
  14. imagination.
