Young and dashing Sub-inspector Prince Jasrotia of Jammu Kashmir Police comes on the list of true warriors.

Jammu and Kashmir: COVID-19, the unprecedented pandemic, originating from Wuhan in China. Has rapidly expanded to affect no fewer than 153 countries of the world. Astonishingly, it has spread violently in the developed countries of Europe and the United States, In particular, the city of New York is the worst affected place where more than a hundred thousand lives have been lost. Despite timely precautions and taking preventive measures, India could not be saved from its onslaught though, in comparison to some most developed countries of Europe like Italy, France, and the UK, Indian casualties to the deadly disease have been much less.
Specific segments of civil society in our country, like the security personnel, police, doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, and sanitation functionaries took the challenge to fight back the pandemic at war level. Their dedication to their duty and profession remains unmatched. In this course of this huge battle, some of the anti-virus warriors won laurels by performing heroic deeds to save the precious lives of countrymen.
Young and dashing Sub-inspector Prince Jasrotia of Jammu Kashmir Police comes on the list of true warriors. He was posted at Madhavpur Naka, the main security point at Lakhanpur. During his duty at his post, he would spend money from his pocket to provide drinking water to the needy. He helped poor people who did not have money even to buy a bottle of water. He also served food to needy people paying for it from his pocket. He is a newly recruited probationary sub-inspector who is not getting a full salary as yet. That notwithstanding, his conscience does not allow him to turn a blind eye to the suffering of others particularly when he feels that he can render some service on humanitarian grounds.
This is one side of the picture. But we have the other side of the picture which is not only distressing but evoking anger and condemnation. We have seen many photos and videos showing the police beating and kicking the people during the lockdown for some little negligence or carelessness. Human nature is generally a strange mix of opposites. The two events described above show us that while we deplore maltreatment of the people by the people we must also appreciate and emulate the noble example of Prince Jasrotia as described above.
Thinks first about the country and people. In an overestimation, we need to recognize that the State police and other security personnel have behaved magnificently in the time fo crisis when they were in danger of catching the deadly virus. The nation is grateful to them for their immense dedication and courage. We have reports that many security personnel and many doctors and paramedical staff members could not remain immune to the impact of the virus yet they took care of themselves as they took care of the people.
Their example should instil in us the spirit of service, dedication and courage, Note the words of this patriotic police officer what he told the correspondent, ” As a policeman, I always try to help needy people. We need to broaden our vision and go beyond artificial boundaries that segregate human beings based on caste, creed and colour. We need to transcend the boundaries of discrimination and stop putting human beings in closed compartments of religion, language and social status. First and foremost we are human beings, the creation of God Almighty.” He added that people have many problems but unless we come close to the people and fraternize with them we shall not be able to understand the magnitude and dimensions of their problems. Once we come close to them and fraternize with them, they the reality dawns upon us. That is what I have learnt while performing my duty in the field. Take the case of daily agers and footpath sellers. They have their families to support and they must work all day to win the brad for their families. How on earth can w close our eyes to their difficulties and their needs? He said that the government was fully conscious of heir difficulties and was doing all it can to provide them succour in these very difficult and trying times. The first and foremost objective of the policy is to provide help to the people.
Young and dedicated officers like Prince Jasrotia have changed the whole system with their quality of taking fresh initiative and working on them with passion. He has been assigned the duty of checking the traffic documents of truck drivers as well as private vehicle drivers. And also make online entries of vehicles entering the territory of J&K.
Reports are that he has been shifted to some other post but his colleagues and co-workers miss him a lot/ Even the local people miss him for his kind, soft, and sympathetic attitude towards them. We gather from our sources that he is working with the same fervor and dedication at his new place of posting as he used to do at the previous place. Such officers and others are a great asset and our country will produce millions of such dedicated youth in times to come who will make India gratin all respects.
